Purrfect chance to help op-shop

TEN Lives Cat Centre is desperate for volunteers at its New Norfolk Op-Shop in High Street.

Ten Lives manager Noel Hunt said the shop currently had 14 volunteers on its books.

“We could really do with another 14,” Mr Hunt said.

“There are days when we only have one volunteer in the shop.

“The New Norfolk Op-Shop is very popular with the community. We don’t expect our volunteers to work all day, they can do a morning or afternoon shift.”

Volunteer Dianne Peake said working in the shop was very rewarding.

“I love cats and Ten Lives is a very worthwhile charity,” Ms Peake said.

“The Op-Shop is a good way for the community to function and support one another.”

Ms Peake said volunteers were not expected to work 9-5, Monday to Friday.

“You can do a couple of hours a day or couple of times a week.

“And you get first dibs at the stuff that comes into the shop,” she said.
