A case of mud, mud, glorious mud

AFTER a hard day’s work rounding up the sheep it’s good to take a breather and where better than in a cooling mud puddle at Arundel Farm.

Owned and run by Fiona Hume, the Macquarie Plains mixed-farm operation consists of Cormo sheep for wool production, cross breed ewes for prime lamb production and a small herd of black Angus cattle and Australia’s largest flock of heritage English Leicester sheep.

And more than a farm, it is a showcase of sustainable practices and agri-tourism.

Local tourism body Derwent Valley Tasmania was so taken with the photo it has used it in its “Unquestionably Derwent Valley’’ campaign.
