Cash plea for brothers in fast lane

GLENORA brothers Cooper and Logan Smythe have been selected to represent their school and state and the Australian All Schools Track and Field Championships in 2023.

The talented athletes attend Glenora District High School. “These gifted young athletes have put their school on the map for athletics and have earned their right to compete at a national level,’’ a supporter said. “Unfortunately there is no funding available to assist the boys with travel, so it is up to us as a community to support them.

“The Australian Sports Foundation has set up a donation page for anyone that can help make this dream a reality. “Help is very much appreciated no matter how small and all donations over $2 are fully tax deductible.’’

At a recent Tasmanian All Schools Athletics Competition Logan won bronze in the under-18 sprint and second in the under-17s, which secured his spot in the nationals. Cooper won silver in the 100m hurdles, which secured his national representation.
