Ag class boost for Bothwell kids

A NEW $2 million agriculture learning facility is planned for the Bothwell District School. Education Minister Roger Jaensch said a tender had been advertised for a contractor to build the upgrade. The works will include construction of a general learning area, an agricultural food science area, a farm produce processing area, amenities, storage and an outdoor learning area.

“Construction will commence in the New Year and, subject to the outcome of the tender process, will be completed in late 2023,’’ Mr Jaensch said. “Our government is continuing to deliver the largest state infrastructure investment for schools across the Forward Estimates in more than 20 years.

“This includes delivering on our 2021 election commitment for new agricultural facilities at Bothwell District School. “Our government is committed to providing pathways for learners to careers in the primary industries, with major upgrades at Jordan River and Sheffield School Farms completed earlier this year.

“We are also investing $2 million to upgrade agricultural facilities at Campbell Town District High School.”
