Nationals coup for Maydena

MAYDENA Bike Park will be hosting the nation’s best riders again next month after recently confirming the AusCycling National Championships will be going ahead.

In a post on their social media pages last week, the event was confirmed to be running again.

“We have been continually following the current Covid situation across the country, including the changing government requirements around travel and events,” the post read.
“This week we have consulted with AusCycling and our event partners, and we are very happy to confirm that the National XCO, DHI and Pump Track National MTB Championships will proceed as planned, February 14-20.
“We are excited to welcome athletes, support crew, and spectators back to Maydena for an epic week of racing!”

Around 1000 competitors took to the track during last year’s event, which many more spectators into the region a welcome boost for tourism in the region.

It will be the third time Maydena has hosted National Championships at their park, holding the Gravity Enduro National Championships in 2019.

As the National Championships edge closer, the Maydena Bike Park is looking for volunteers to help operate the event.
