Bike park keeps on growing

THE Maydena Bike Park has secured a land deal to expand the popular adrenaline attraction.

The owners behind the park have purchased the entire lower mountain land area from Norske Skog Paper Mills.

The deal includes hundreds of acres of land, previously forestry plantation, from the base building to almost the park’s midline.

The mostly cleared land will be rehabilitated.

“The land sale secures the long-term future of the park, and will allow us to realise our full vision for our trail network, and also a range of other new adventure tourism activities,’’ a park spokesperson said.

“We thank the team at Norske Skog for working with us to complete the sale process.

“We will be working to rehabilitate large previously harvested areas, and importantly we will be protecting significant areas of old growth and plantation forests in perpetuity.’’
