THE New Norfolk District Football Club has signed on a new seniors coach for next year’s season.
Tim “Chisel’’ Butterworth joined the club this year as a running defender for the senior team.
However, he was struck by injury and retired from playing the game.
“Lucky for us, Tim’s enthusiasm towards coaching was noticed and the rest is history,’’ a club spokesperson said.
“Chisel has a wealth of football knowledge at different levels, from playing more than 100 TSL games, playing with Aspley in the NEAFL, 2016 Premiership with Glenorchy and 2014 state representative side versus Vic.
“We would also love to thank Josh Clifford for his dedication and passion on coaching the NNDFC seniors for the past three years.
“Your hard work does not go unnoticed and I am sure you will assist Tim in every way possible.’’
The club also paid tribute to its teams.
“Congratulations to all four teams for all qualifying for finals.
“It is the first time in history that all four sides have made it through. This is nothing short of amazing. “Unfortunately the colts, women’s and seniors were knocked out in the first finals, but that doesn’t take away the fantastic season the three sides had.
“Our reserves side pushed through the finals series into the Grand Final, but unfortunately they fell short. This was a huge achievement for the team and they should be proud, just as we are. “
As the season is officially at an end on the field, we look forward to gathering together at our annual Red, White and Black Ball combined with our B&F night in early October.
“As one season finishes, another one opens. Please keep your eyes peeled for 2021 sponsor recognitions, 2022 player commitments, new player profiles, coach announcements, preseason commencements and much more.’’
